Our trip in Ireland uses Celtic Rider’s Wild Atlantic Way 14-day tour. This trip, led by our founder, Lisa Malachowsky, offers an immersive journey along Ireland’s rugged west coast, renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. It has the same great riding reputation as Route 66 in the US! Our adventure begins with a ride from the base to Kilkenny, traversing scenic rural roads that skirt the Wicklow National Park. In Kilkenny, riders can explore medieval landmarks such as Kilkenny Castle and St. Canice’s Cathedral.
The following day, the route leads to Kinsale, a picturesque coastal town celebrated for its gourmet offerings and the official starting point of the Wild Atlantic Way. En route, riders encounter historic sites, including Cahir Castle and Lismore Castle, with the latter’s gardens being particularly noteworthy. The journey also traverses ‘The Vee,’ a popular mountain pass offering expansive views across multiple counties.
As the tour progresses, riders experience the full splendor of the Wild Atlantic Way, a 2,500 km (@1500 miles) route that showcases Ireland’s dramatic coastal scenery. Highlights include towering cliffs, serene bays, and charming villages nestled along the shoreline. Notable attractions along the way include the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle Peninsula, and Mizen Head, Ireland’s southernmost point.
The journey also delves into regions like Connemara National Park, characterized by its hauntingly beautiful moorland landscapes and mountains. This area offers a glimpse into Ireland’s wilderness and is a testament to the country’s natural beauty.
Throughout the tour, riders will be immersed in local culture, from traditional Irish-speaking communities to contemporary culinary experiences in towns like Galway. The route is carefully planned to balance daily riding with plenty of time to explore and enjoy Ireland’s diverse attractions, so everyone has a comprehensive, enriching experience.
The trip’s starting date is Sunday, August 29, 2027. Costs start at $8,000, not including flights. There is an optional Dublin post-tour add-on. Riders must be in Ireland on August 28th to pick up their motorcycle.
