Buton Island
Buton lies southeast of the Sulawesi Peninsula and faces the Banda Sea. Its impressive cliffs sit atop dramatic undersea overhangs and terraces.
Pasarwajo Bay
This is one of our favorite dive spots in Indonesia. It offers incredible opportunities for muck or macro diving above gentle rubble slopes and meadows of sea grasses.

Wangi-Wangi Island
Submerged seamounts, deep walls, steep slopes, and splendid reefs highlight why Jacques Cousteau referred to this part of the world as a “diving nirvana.”
Kaledupa
Karang Kaledupa is one of the largest reef systems in the world. Here, a vast maze of seamounts and interconnected ridges lie shallow enough to be completely covered in corals—and the abundant sea life that thrives in these environments.

Tomia Island
This lovely island is the heart of Wakatobi National Park. Its reefs and seamounts invite you to explore and celebrate the area’s incredibly diverse marine life.
Komba
Komba Island is the tip of Batu Tara, an active volcano that rises from the depths and pierces the surface of the Flores Sea. The underwater landscape offers up a dramatic contrast of colorful corals and sponges set against a dark gray substrate.
Pantar Island
Pantar is the second-largest island in the Alor Archipelago. Its diving opportunities include a stunning coral-covered wall, a seafloor carpeted with anemones, and a vast array of sea life, including hairy frogfish, ambon scorpion fish, and thorny seahorse.

Alor Strait
This area, off the dry, barren south of the Alor Archipelago, offers exposed dive sites with huge soft coral “trees” growing up from the seafloor. Profuse coral growths all around attract clouds of colorful anthias. Thresher sharks, mola mola, and a variety of pelagic fish are not uncommon.
Solor
Solor is a tiny island on the north edge of the Savu Sea. Our favorite dive spot here is known for attracting manta rays.
