Details
Join us on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to places in Indonesia where very few divers have been.
We have booked a voyage on the Adelaar, a historic sailing vessel that has been completely renovated and repurposed as a scuba liveaboard ship. Adelaar is the perfect vessel to take us to places where few have gone before. And it is an intimate ship for the type of group we hope will want to join us for this expedition.
Starting in Labuan Bajo, on East Nusa Tenggara, we expect to go northward through the Flores Sea and visit the walls and reefs around Selayar. Our founder, Lisa, visited this island in 1998 and was blown away by the beauty and diversity she witnessed. This area has many sites that were relatively pristine when we first visited. We have been monitoring reports of diving in this area ever since.
There is only one resort on Selayar, which makes visiting challenging for tourists. We anticipate that the areas close to shore will still be great for scuba diving since there are no significant industries or large villages on the island.
After circumnavigating and diving on Selayar, we plan to travel southeast to explore areas that Jacques Cousteau considered to have some of the best biodiversity in the Tukang Besi Islands. Very few divers visit this area, and it will be an exciting adventure for those wanting to get off the beaten path. The Adelaar team has been scouting this area for dive sites and has already been impressed with the marine life found here.
This trip will depart on April 8, 2024, and return to Labuan Bajo on April 18, 2024. Flights and add-on trips are available, which we can secure for those interested. Lisa is planning to spend April 1-7 at Villa Markisa in Bali. Please use the contact form below to check availability if you want to join her there.
